Then I installed W11 on the notebook and Windows update installed a W11 driver for the display and it has worked fine ever since with the newest driver that Windows update downloaded.
So, I had to revert back to the latest HP driver that worked without a problem. Restarting it fixed the problem, but I could not let the display sleep.

If it does, you revert to the HP W10 driver I gave you, restart the PC and run the hide Windows updates utility again.
